Common Factors leading to KIDNEY stone formation
What are some common factors leading to Kidney stone formation?
1. Low water intake- A daily water of intake of 2.5 - 3 liters is adequate. That is 10-12 glasses of water a day, in a normal adult.
2. Diet; A diet rich in Meat, Multivitamin tablets, Vitamin C tablet excess
Excess intake of pepper, Chocolate, Nuts, Spinach, Animal Protein can potentially lead to Kidney Stones.
3.Obesity
4.Diabetes Mellitus.
5. High intake of Table Salt.
6. Certain drugs such as Steroids, Chemotherapeutic drugs, Thiazide diuretics, can induce Kidney stones (contd)
7. Hypomagnesaemia
8. Urine infections increase the risk of stone formation.
9. Sedentary life style leads to demineralization of bones- stone formation
10. Family History- some Kidney Stones run in the family.
11. Other diseases: Diseases such as Gout, Primary Hyperthyroidism

5. Avoid Obesity-maintain close 2 ideal weight
6.Avoid rapid weight loss-Fad diet
7.Dont overindulge in meat
8. Moderate drinking alcohol
9.Drink plenty of fruit juice,esp Orange
juice.Fruits/juices contain Citrate- a powerful preventor of stone formation&growth
10. Prevent Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus
11. Get Urinary infections treated expeditiously
Urinary Stones r a heavy, physically painful burden on society.
Preventing it is good fr body/purse/longevity
